WOLSELEY IS A HERITAGE COMMUNITY!
Many homeowners along Arlington Street, Wolseley Avenue, and the #10 route are long-term residents. They are active in their community and value their neighbourhood relationships.
It’s no wonder that the Wolseley Greenway plan has received a much more positive reception than the Master Transit Plan in Wolseley. The Greenway plan, with its elevated grades and marked cross-walks, reflects the character and goals of this neighbourhood. Cycling and walking will increase. Perhaps other types of active transportation, like bike shares, will become popular on the calmed Greenway.

How can up to eight buses an hour align with “calming and greening” Wolseley?
Transit planning must be about more than drawing straight lines on a map. This kind of community life is an asset to the City of Winnipeg. It results in long-term home ownership, pride in community life, increased community cohesion and safety, and increased civic engagement. The Wolseley community should not be bisected by a bus thoroughfare.
